Trivia

    Album

  • This film was a big flop and ended the long-running, successful partnership between Prakash Mehra and Amitabh Bachchan, which had started with the film "Zanjeer" (1973).[1]
  • Amitabh Bachchan played the role of a magician in two films released in quick succession in 1989 - this film and "Toofan" (1989). Director Prakash Mehra had accused Amitabh of professional dishonesty for not revealing to him that he was playing a similar role in another film.[2]

    Song

  • Padosan Apni Murgi Ko Rakhna Sambhaal - Bappi Lahiri's song "Tere Kurte Ka Button Ban Ke Baby" ("Khooni Murdaa", 1990) also had the same tune as the mukhda of this song. It is possible that both songs were inspired by the same folk song.[3]
  • Hum Kya Samjhe The Aapko - This was a parody medley of two Hindi film songs - "Husn Ke Lakhon Rang" ("Johny Mera Naam", 1970) composed by Kalyanji - Anandji, and the title song of "An Evening In Paris" (1967) composed by Shankar - Jaikishan.[4][5]
  • Hum Kya Samjhe The Aapko - This song was apparently picturised but edited out of the film's final version.
  • Aaye Hain Duaen Dene - The keyboard riff in this song was borrowed from the Pet Shop Boys song "Domino Dancing" (1988).[6]
