Trivia

    Album

  • This film marked the beginning of Kader Khan's film career. He was credited as the film's writer along with Inder Raj Anand. He debuted as an actor the next year for the film "Daag" (1973).[1]
  • This film was remade in Kannada as "Aralida Hoovugalu" (1991).
  • Producer Ramesh Behl had given Kader Khan a week to write the dialogues for this film. He apparently went to the Cross Maidan playground in Bombay and finished writing the dialogues in just four hours.[2]
  • Encouraged by the success of this film, producer Ramesh Behl made another film - "Dil Diwana" (1974) - with key members of its cast and crew, including director Narinder Bedi, dialogue writer Kader Khan, music director R.D. Burman, lyricist Anand Bakshi, and actors Randhir Kapoor, Jaya Bhaduri and Paintal.[3]

    Song

  • Nahin Nahin Abhi Nahin - R.D. Burman included the verbal exchange between Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar at the beginning of the song based on Kishore Kumar's suggestion.
  • Jaane Jaan Dhoondhta Phir Raha - The flute solo in the prelude and interludes of this song was inspired by the flute in the song "Rain" (1969) by Jose Feliciano. "Rain" also featured in a medley sung by Usha Iyer in the film "Bombay To Goa" (1972). The tune of "Rain" was used in other Hindi film songs as well - R.D. Burman's "Maine Tumko Chaha Pehli Baar" ("Double Cross", 1973), Satyam's "Mere Dil Jhoom Jhoom Tu Gaaye Ja" ("Rani Aur Jaani", 1973) and Anu Malik's "Sun Sun Sun Barsaat Ki Dhun" ("Sir", 1993).[4][5][6][7][8]
  • Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani - This song was re-created by Vishal - Shekhar for the film "Student Of The Year 2" (2019). The song's title had earlier inspired the title of a 2013 film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.[9][10]
