Trivia

    Album

  • Shekhar Kapur and Shabana Azmi had become good friends after meeting on the sets of the film "Ishk Ishk Ishk" (1974). They were later romantically involved and were cast together in a few films, including two in which they were paired onscreen - "Toote Khilone" (1977) and this film. The two eventually parted ways, but when Kapur decided to direct his first film, "Masoom" (1983), he brought Shabana Azmi on board.[1][2][3]
  • This film was based on Mannu Bhandari's story "Ekhane Aakash Neyi".

    Song

  • Hum Nahin Dukh Se Ghabrayenge - Salil Chowdhury had originally composed the tune of this song for the Bengali non-film song "Emni Chirodin To Kabhu Jaay Na" (1973), sung by Anup Ghoshal.[4]
  • O Sham Aayi Rangon Mein Rangi Hui - Salil Chowdhury had used the tune of this song earlier for the Bengali non-film song "O Amaar Paddo Pataar Din" (1975), sung by Sabita Chowdhury.[5]
  • Yehi To Hai Mere Khwabon Ka Jahan - Salil Chowdhury had used the tune of this song earlier for the Malayalam film song "Poovili Poovili" ("Vishukkani", 1977), sung by Yesudas.[6]
