Trivia

    Album

  • The film was a spiritual successor to "Jolly LLB" (2013). Both films were produced by Fox Star Studios and written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Mishra reprised their roles in the film.[1]
  • An advocate filed a petition with the Bombay High Court (HC) asking for a stay on the film's release and the removal of the word "LLB" in its title. The petition claimed that the film was disrespectful towards the "judicial profession, discipline and ethics". A similar petition was also filed in a Jaipur court. The Bombay High Court appointed a 3-judge panel to view the film and submit a report. The makers of the film moved to the Supreme Court (SC) against the decision but the SC upheld the HC's order. The HC bench found the film to be defamatory, ordered four cuts in it and asked the CBFC to re-certify the film based on their order. The producers then agreed to implement the HC's order and withdrew their SC petition.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
  • The footwear maker Bata filed a defamation lawsuit against the makers of the film. The company claimed damages of Rs. 3 crores for what they considered to be a "derogatory" remark made against them in the film's trailer. The makers of the film offered to delete the reference from the film but Bata asserted that this was not enough considering the fact that the trailer had already been viewed millions of times on the internet. It is not clear how the matter was eventually resolved. Bata and the film's producers may have entered into an out-of-court settlement.[8][9]
  • The film was banned in Pakistan for its reference to the Kashmir issue.[10]
  • The film was shot in just 30 days.[11]

    Song

  • Jolly Good Fellow - The song's hook line was adapted from the popular English language song "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow". The tune of the English song was itself based on the French folk song "Marlbrough s'en va-t-en guerre".
