Trivia

    Album

  • Originally titled "Mr. Hitler", Subodh Mukherjee had planned this 1961 film with Dev Anand. When he reneged on his promise and took up Nasir Hussain's production debut, "Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai" (1961), Subodh Mukherjee offered the role to Shammi Kapoor. Shammi Kapoor accepted the role but wanted the title changed. Ironically, the lead role in "Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai" went to Dev Anand only because Nasir Hussain and Shammi Kapoor had a falling out.[MR15]
  • After the huge success of this film, Shammi Kapoor had asked for a big hike for his next film which producer, director Subodh Mukherjee had declined. As a result, Shammi Kapoor never worked for Subodh Mukherjee again. [MR15]

    Song

  • Yahoo! Chaahe Koi Mujhe Junglee Kahe - The "Yahoo" scream in this song was by writer Prayag Raj and not by Mohammed Rafi or Shammi Kapoor as popularly believed. The idea of "Yahoo" itself was Shammi Kapoor's who had used it earlier in "Tumsa Nahin Dekha" (1957) and "Dil Deke Dekho" (1959). Jaikishan then incorporated it into the song. In fact, Jaikishan had planned on using his voice for the scream but when he couldn't pull it off, he brought in Prayag Raj, who Shankar - Jaikishan had used as a chorus singer before.
  • Aai Aai Ya Sukoo Sukoo - Part of the "Ek Din Bik Jayega" ("Dharam Karam", 1975) tune can be heard in this song on the accordion.
  • Aai Aai Ya Sukoo Sukoo - This song is an adaptation of a song originally written and recorded by Tarateno Rojas in 1959. It really took off in 1961-62 when it was covered by Laurie Johnson and his orchestra for the theme music of the TV show "Top Secret".[1]
  • Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujh Par (Female) - The film was originally supposed to have only the male version of the song sung by Mohd. Rafi. The director later decided to add a female version and Lata Mangeshkar used Mohd. Rafi's track as the dummy track to record her version of the song.[MR7]
