Trivia

    Album

  • This film was an adaptation of Ruskin Bond's novella "A Flight of Pigeons".
  • This film was certified in December 1978 but its theatrical and audio release happened in 1979.
  • Actor Shashi Kapoor debuted as a producer in this film. The film launched his production house Film-Valas. He also played a lead role in it. The film featured his entire family - wife Jennifer Kendall, and children Kunal, Karan and Sanjana. According to Shashi Kapoor, their casting was not a case of nepotism but because actors who could play British characters were hard to find.[1]
  • This was Nafisa Ali's debut Hindi film. The Kapoors had recommended her to Shyam Benegal when the actress whom he had originally chosen for her role had backed out a few days before the shooting was supposed to start. She had previously rejected a film she had been offered by Raj Kapoor, but she was impressed enough by Shyam Benegal to accept this film.[2]
  • This was actress Deepti Naval's debut Hindi film.

    Song

  • Come Live With Me And Be My Love - The lyrics of this song were wrongly credited to William Shakespeare in the film's audio release. They were actually taken from Christopher Marlowe's poem "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love" (1599).
