Trivia

    Album

  • This film was based on the Bengali novel "Swayamsiddha" by Manilal Banerjee. The novel was previously adapted for the Telugu film "Ardhangi" (1955). "Ardhangi" (1955) was later remade in Tamil as "Pennin Perumai" (1956) and in Hindi as "Bahurani" (1963).[1]

    Song

  • Chidiya Choo Choo Karti Hain - The tune of the mukhda of this song was adapted from the song "Marianne" composed by the calypso musician Roaring Lion. Bappi Lahiri used the same tune again in the song "Whole Day Whole Night" ("Yodha", 1991).[2][3]
  • Thoda Resham Lagta Hai (Kaliyon Ka Chaman) - This song gained a lot of attention in the 2000s through the music video of a cover version of this song. The cover version, titled "Kaliyon Ka Chaman", was sung by Shashwati, recreated by Harry Anand and had modified lyrics by Dev Kohli. Meghna Naidu, the model who featured in the music video, became an overnight sensation and made her film debut in "Hawas" (2004).[4][5]
  • Thoda Resham Lagta Hai (Kaliyon Ka Chaman) - This song was sampled heavily by the R&B artist Truth Hurts for her chart-busting song "Addictive" (2002). When its music director Bappi Lahiri filed a $500 million lawsuit against Dr. Dre and his label Aftermath for copyright infringement, the court ordered a halt on the sales of the album "Truthfully Speaking" in which this song appeared.[6][7]
