  • The song "It's Raining Men" was used in this film without permission from the copyright holders. The director, Karan Johar, was sued in a UK court, and was sentenced to pay the copyright owners.[1][2]
  • Sandesh Shandilya made his Hindi film debut with a few songs in this film.
  • When Jatin - Lalit publicly expressed their disappointment at not being the solo music directors in this film, Karan Johar announced that he would never work with the duo again.[3]
  • Karan Johar had filmed Abhishek Bachchan for a cameo appearance in this film, but the scene was left out of the final cut.[4]
  • This was Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's first film together after "Silsila" (1981).[5]
  • Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan played the younger version of his father's character in this film.
  • Amitabh Bachchan's character in this film was named after Karan Johar's father, Yash Johar, and was given his birth date as well.
