  • News about this film was first reported in 2013. It was initially titled "Focus", had Akarsh Khurana at the helm and was being produced by Bejoy Nambiar. The film was supposed to have Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Arvind Swami in lead roles. In 2014, it was reported that Swami had been replaced by Rajkummar Rao and that the film would go on the floors in May. However, the production did not take off as planned as Khurana left the project over "creative differences" with Nambiar. Heeraz Marfatia was hired to replace him but the film was put on hold since Nambiar wanted to focus on "Wazir" (2015). It re-surfaced in 2017 after it looked like it had been shelved - this time as a Ronnie Screwvala production and with Khurana back as the director. This time around, the film was announced with Abhishek Bachchan and Irrfan in lead roles. A few months later, it was reported that Bachchan had quit due to scheduling conflicts with "Paltan" (2018) - a film he eventually left as well. The film finally went on the floors in September 2017 after Bachchan was replaced by debutant Dulquer Salmaan. Dulquer, Malayalam superstar Mammootty's son, had previously worked in Malayalam and Tamil films. This was supposed to be Akarsh Khurana's directorial debut but its release was delayed and "High Jack" (2018) ended up becoming his first Hindi film.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
  • This was singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad's first music release as music director and lyricist. He had debuted earlier in "Lust Stories" (2018) but it did not have a music release.[11]
