Song
Rangabati - The song was adapted from the popular Sambalpuri song of the same title. The original song was composed by Prabhudatta Pradhan, its lyrics were written by Mitrabhanu Gauntia, and it was sung by Jitendra Haripal and Krishna Patel. The song made news when another version of it, produced by Ram Sampath and sung by Sona Mohapatra, got embroiled in a controversy. This version aired on Coke Studio India in July 2015. Prabhudatta Pradhan and Mitrabhanu Gauntia filed cases of copyright infringement against Coca-Cola, Ram Sampath, and Sona Mohapatra seeking damages of Rs. 1 crore for not crediting them and for adapting their song without their permission. Ram Sampath and Sona Mohapatra were also accused of distorting the original song. The director of this film, Nila Madhab Panda, clarified that the controversy did not concern him since he had sought permission from its creators and duly credited them.[1][2][3]
