  • This film was an adaptation of the Australian TV series "Return to Eden" (1983). It was remade in Tamil as "Thendral Sudum" (1989).
  • This was Kabir Bedi's comeback Hindi film. He had taken a break from Hindi films for over a decade to focus on his TV and film career outside India.
  • The success of this film and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress she received for it was a significant milestone in Rekha's career.
