Trivia

    Album

  • Actresses Sharmila Tagore, Parveen Babi, Rekha and Moushumi Chatterjee made uncredited cameo appearances as themselves in the film's opening credits.
  • This film was loosely adapted from the Shammi Kapoor film "Professor" (1962). The film "Dil Tera Aashiq" (1981) was also adapted from "Professor". "Professor" itself was based on the Hollywood film "Charley's Aunt" (1941) which in turn was based on the very successful play by the same name, written by Brandon Thomas.[1][2]

    Song

  • Ab Ye Jana Ki Ise Kahte Hain Aana Dil Ka - In the film, this song was followed by a few lines of the same composition sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy. Her lines were sung without any musical instruments and were not included in the audio release. According to her, Mohammed Rafi had had to do multiple takes of the song since he was forgetting his lines in the last antara. She marvelled that despite his seniority he had apologised to her, a junior artist, for delaying her recording.
