Trivia

    Album

  • R.D. Burman and S.D. Burman used to share arrangers Basu Chakravarty and Manohari Singh till this film. Once, when S.D. Burman had summoned the arrangers for recording the music of "Tere Mere Sapne" (1971), the duo could not make it to the recording on time since they were busy at the time recording this film's music with R.D. Burman. The senior Burman then decided to not use them again and switched to other arrangers like Anil Mohile and Arun Paudwal.[1][2]
  • This was actress Radha Saluja's first mainstream Hindi film. Born Rita Saluja, she had taken on her screen name Radha in this film. She had previously appeared in the Film Institute of India film "Rakhi Rakhi" (1969) in which she was credited with her birth name.[3]
  • This film was a remake of the hit Tamil film "Ethir Neechal" (1968) written and directed by K. Balachander. The Tamil film itself was based on K. Balachander's play of the same name. The film was also remade in Telugu as "Sambarala Rambabu" (1970).

    Song

  • Jogi O Jogi Pyar Mein Kya Hoga - This was perhaps one of the earliest film songs that had sections picturized in slow motion. The song had to be played at high speed during the shooting of the song so that it would be properly lip-synched in slow motion. Many songs have used this technique since then, perhaps most famously "Pehla Nasha" ("Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar", 1991).[4]
  • Mere Samne Wale Kamre Mein (Parody) - This R.D. Burman parody-medley was an almost exclusive riff on songs by S.D. Burman and R.D. Burman. The only exception to this rule in the medley was the parody of Pankaj Mullick's "Chale Pavan Ki Chaal" ("Doctor", 1941).[5]
