Trivia

    Album

  • This film remains unreleased due to a spat between its director Gulzar and producer Vikas Mohan. Mohan had apparently wanted to have a say in the film's writing but Gulzar had refused to accommodate him. The film has been screened twice at the International Film Festival of India - in Bangalore in 1992 and in Goa in 2014. Mohan had apparently been miffed about the 2014 screening and had demanded that IFFI return the film's print to him.[1]
  • This film was adapted from Gulzar's short story "Seema" from his collection of short stories "Raavi Paar".
  • Utpal Dutt's lines in this film were dubbed by Johnny Lever.
  • This film marked the end of a very successful partnership between R.D. Burman and Gulzar.

    Song

  • Kya Bura Hai Kya Bhala - R.D. Burman used the tune of the S.D. Burman song "Ami Soite Pari Na Bola" for the mukhda of this song. He had used the same tune earlier for the mukhda of the song "Jiye Tumharo Laalna" ("Rakhi Aur Hathkadi", 1972).[2][3]
