Trivia

    Album

  • The film was associated with many firsts. It was the first film produced by Ronnie Screwvala's newly-formed banner, RSVP. Screwvala, who had founded the UTV Group in 1990, sold the company to Disney for Rs. 2000 crores in 2011 and quit his job as its managing director in 2013. He founded the production house RSVP in 2017. After considering various options, the banner decided to release the film directly on Netflix, making it India's first Netflix Original movie. It was released on Valentine's Day - February 14, 2018. This was the first feature film directed by Anand Tiwari, known for his work as an actor in films like "Aisha" (2010) and "Go Goa Gone" (2013) and as the director of the TV series "Bang Baaja Baaraat" (2015).[1][2][3][4][5]
  • The was the second time Anand Tiwari directed actress Angira Dhar - they had previously worked together in the TV series "Bang Baaja Baaraat" (2015). Tiwari and Dhar would go on to get married in 2021.[6]
  • This was the first film after "Mirch Masala" (1987) in which sisters Ratna Pathak Shah and Supriya Pathak Kapur worked together.[7]
  • Ranbir Kapoor made a cameo appearance in the film's climax. The end credits started by crediting him and featured a catchphrase associated with the actor - 'Heera Hai Heera'.[8]

    Song

  • Yatri Kripaya Dhyaan Den - Members of the rap group Mumbai's Finest, Ace aka Abhishek Dhusia, Nasty Ninja aka Sumeet Suvarna, and Diefferent aka Sahir Nawab, performed this song and also made a cameo appearance in the film for it.
  • Aashiyana Aashiyana Aashiyan Aisa Ho - A line in this song referenced lyricist Gulzar - "Baarishen khul ke jab bhi hamaare ghar aayen gaane Gulzar ke mil ke gungunaayen".
