Trivia

    Album

  • The director duo of Abbas - Mustan launched Abbas's son Mustafa as a lead actor in this film. Mustafa had made his acting debut earlier with a small role in the film "Players" (2011).[1]
  • This was the first film produced under the banner of Abbas Mustan Films Production. The theme music used for the banner logo in the film's opening was based on one of the biggest hit songs from Abbas - Mustan's films - "Baazigar O Baazigar" ("Baazigar", 1993).[2]

    Song

  • Itna Tumhen Chahna Hai - The first line of the song's mukhda may have been inspired by the song "Aakhir Tumhen Aana Hai" ("Yalgaar", 1992).[3]
  • Chatur Naar - Portions of the song's lyrics and tune were inspired by the popular R.D. Burman song "Ek Chatur Naar" ("Padosan", 1968). The official YouTube video of this song credited the artists of the song from "Padosan" (1968) even though it was not a cover version. The absence of credit to Saregama, the music label of "Padosan" (1968), suggests that this was not an authorised adaptation.[4]
  • Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast - This was a recreated version of a hit song from the film "Mohra" (1994). Udit Narayan, who sang the original version with Kavita Krishnamurthy, also lent his vocals for the recreation. Composed by Viju Shah and written by Anand Bakshi, the "Mohra" (1994) song itself was adapted from the qawwali "Dum Mast Kalandar Mast Mast" popularised by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Rajiv Rai, the head of Trimurti Films, the banner that produced "Mohra" (1994), said in an interview that he owned the copyrights to the song. He expressed displeasure over the fact that the makers of the film had sought permission to recreate the song from Akshay Kumar instead of him. Kumar, who had performed the original song on the screen with Raveena Tandon, participated in an event organised to release the recreated version. While the song was part of the film's original music CDs, it was removed from digital platforms later on. It is not clear when or why this was done. This may have been the result of legal claims made by the copyright owners.[5][6][7]
