Trivia

    Album

  • Shah Rukh Khan had started a production company called Dreamz Unlimited along with Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza. When the three films produced by the banner - "Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani" (2000), "Asoka" (2001) and "Chalte Chalte" (2003) - failed to make an impact, they wound up the banner. Shah Rukh then formed his own production company called Red Chillies Entertainment. This was the first film produced by this new banner.[1]
  • This film was remade in Tamil as "Aegan" (2008).
  • This was choreographer Farah Khan's first film as a writer and director.
  • The background score of this film used snippets of various R.D. Burman songs. In fact, director Farah Khan had asked Anu Malik to compose songs in the style of R.D. Burman for the film.

    Song

  • Chale Jaise Hawaien - This song may have been inspired by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's qawwali "Yeh Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai".[2]
  • Chale Jaise Hawaien - A significant portion of this song was shot in a single take.
  • Ye Fizaein - This song was used in the film's end credits. The film's cast and crew members were featured in the song along with their credits. Director Farah Khan used similar end credit styles in her subsequent films as well. Her experience as a choreographer in the stage musical "Bombay Dreams" inspired her to shoot this song as a "curtain call".[3]
