Trivia

    Album

  • This film was based on the Marathi novel "Ashi Tujhi Preet" by Chandrakant Kakodkar.
  • This was Nutan and Asha Parekh's first and last Hindi film together.
  • The film featured a few dohas sung by Manna Dey but they were not part of the audio release.[MR1]

    Song

  • Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki - Director Raj Khosla had asked Laxmikant - Pyarelal to compose the music for the film's title song although the lyrics were not yet ready. Upon seeing Laxmikant - Pyarelal's dilemma, lyricist Anand Bakshi came to their rescue by giving them the next line, "Koi nahin main tere saajan ki", which gave the music directors enough to compose this song.
  • Chhap Tilak Sab Chheeni Re - The lyrics for this song were Anand Bakshi's adaptation of a poem by the 13th-century poet Amir Khusro.
