Trivia

    Album

  • This film was based on the 1964 Hollywood musical "My Fair Lady", which in turn was based on a Broadway musical of the same title. The Broadway stage musical itself was based on the 1938 film "Pygmalion", which was based on George Bernard Shaw's play of the same name. The Hindi film "Hum Tere Ashiq Hain" (1979) was inspired by the same musical.[1]
  • The audio records of this film were issued in 1979 but the film was certified and released only in 1980.
  • This was Amit Khanna's first film as a producer.

    Song

  • Hothon Pe Geet Jaage - This song was based on the song "I Could Have Danced All Night", originally written for the Broadway play "My Fair Lady" (1956) and performed by Julie Andrews. Another Hindi film song was possibly inspired by the same song partially - "Yeh Kaisa Pyar Hai" ("Chauraha", 1994).[2][3]
  • Rahne Ko Ek Ghar Hoga - This song was inspired by the song "Wouldn't It Be Loverly", originally written for the Broadway play "My Fair Lady" (1964) and performed by Julie Andrews.[4]
