Trivia

    Album

  • Aamir Khan worked as an assistant director (AD) to Nasir Husain in this film before starting his career as an actor. He worked as an AD in Nasir Husain's next film "Zabardast" (1985) as well.[1][MR14]
  • This was Dimple Kapadia's comeback film after her debut in "Bobby" (1973). She had married Rajesh Khanna a few months before the release of "Bobby" (1973) and separated from him in 1984.[2]
  • This was the first of a number of films in which Dimple Kapadia was paired against Sunny Deol. In the years to come, there were periodic rumours of them being romantically linked.
  • This was the last film Nasir Husain directed for his own banner Nasir Husain Films. He would direct just one more film after this, "Zabardast" (1985), for producers Mushir - Riaz.[3]
  • Nasir Husain had wanted to take his favourite actor, Rishi Kapoor, for this film. However, Rishi Kapoor was avoiding the filmmaker at the time since he blamed himself for the debacle of the film "Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai" (1981). Eventually, Husain chose Sunny Deol for the film due to his closeness to his father Dharmendra.[4][MR14]
  • Producer, director Nasir Hussain was infuriated when Dimple Kapadia did not show up for her dubbing session for this film and decided to get her lines in the film dubbed by actress and choreographer Habiba Rehman.[5]
  • This was the last film in which Nasir Husain directed actress Asha Parekh. He had previously worked with her more than a decade ago for the film "Caravan" (1971). Their association had started with Asha Parekh's debut film in a lead role - "Dil Deke Dekho" (1959).[6][7]

    Song

  • Hey Baba Hey Baba Milte Hain Ek Din Hey Baba - This song reused a refrain from another song in the film - "O Meri Jaan".
  • Yeh Naina Yaad Hai - This song featured the tunes of two other songs from the same film. Towards the end of the song, Shailendra sang a line to the tune of "O Meri Jaan" and the harmonica solo had the same tune as "Jhalak Dikhake".
  • Lut Gaye Hum To Raahon Mein - The harmonica solo in this song had the same tune as another song from the film, "Jhalak Dikhake Kar Gayi Deewana".
  • O Mitwaa Tujhko Aana Hi Padega - R.D. Burman had Asha Bhosle vocalize "Ah, ah, re..." when Dimple Kapadia's character started singing in this song. He used the tune of this vocalization the following year for the song "Jab Chaha Yaara Tumne" ("Zabardast", 1985).[8]
