This was painter M.F. Hussain's second film after "Gaja Gamini" (2000). It was his last film as director.[1]
Song
Yeh Rishta - A.R. Rahman reused the composition of this song for the Tamil film song "Naan Epodhu" ("Sakkarakatti", 2008). Reena Bhardwaj sang this song in both languages.[2]
Chinnamma Chilakkamma - A.R. Rahman reused the composition of this song for a similarly titled song for the film "Sakkarakatti" (2008).[3]
Noor-Un-Ala-Noor - Some Muslim organisations had raised objections against this song. According to them, this song was blasphemous since it used phrases directly from the Quran. A disturbed M.F. Hussain, who produced and directed this film, had asked the film's distributors to stop screening the film in theatres.[4]
