Trivia

    Album

  • Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was so impressed by Suraiya's singing in this film that he complimented her saying "Tumne aaj Ghalib ki rooh ko zinda kar diya." ("You have brought alive Ghalib's soul.").[MR3]

    Song

  • Rahiye Ab Aisi Jagah Chal Kar Jahan Koi Na Ho - This Mirza Ghalib ghazal was also recorded as a song in the film "Qaidi" (1940). Majrooh Sultanpuri adapted the opening couplet of this ghazal for the mukhda of the Hindi film song "Ae Dil Mujhe Aisi Jagah Le Chal Jahan Koi Na Ho" ("Arzoo", 1950).[1][2]
