Trivia

    Album

  • Ashutosh Gowariker conceived the idea for a film based on the Indus Valley Civilisation in 1999 when he was scouting for locations for the film "Lagaan" (2001) in Bhuj, Gujarat. It took almost two decades to take the film from idea to release.[1][2]
  • Writer, director Akashaditya Lama filed a petition in the Bombay High Court asking for a stay on the film's release. He claimed in the petition that he had written a script of the same title in 1999 while studying at the National School of Drama. Years later, Lama had moved to Bombay and registered the story with the Film Writers' Association under the title "Samrajya" in 2010. The court rejected the petition and said that there was no resemblance between Lama's story and this film's. They also imposed a fine of Rs. 1.5 lakhs on him to discourage similar frivolous petitions in the future.[3]
  • This was actress Pooja Hegde's first Hindi film. She had debuted earlier in the Tamil film "Mugamoodi" (2012).
  • This was TV actor Nitish Bharadwaj's first significant film appearance in more than two decades. He had made a cameo appearance in "Delhii Heights" (2007). Before that, he had last appeared in "Prem Shakti" (1994).[4][5]
