Trivia

    Album

  • The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2017. Its music was released in December 2017. The film was certified and released theatrically in January 2018.
  • Prior to this film, actor Vineet Kumar Singh had struggled in the Hindi film industry for about a decade with only a few minor roles to show for it. He wrote the film's script, collaborating with his sister Mukti Singh Srinet, to give himself a break as a lead actor. He pitched the script to various producers before asking Anurag Kashyap in 2015. Kashyap agreed to make the film on two conditions. He wanted to be able to contribute to the script and he wanted Singh to train as a boxer. The actor accepted both the conditions and moved to Patiala to train under Coach Harpreet Singh for a year. He remained anonymous during this period. This became Vineet Kumar Singh's first feature film in a lead role.[1]
  • Anurag Kashyap was looking for producers to finance this film when Aanand L. Rai called him to direct "Manmarziyaan" (2018). Kashyap told him that he was willing to do it but wanted to do this film first. Rai then suggested that they "do both together" and came on board this film as a producer.[2][3]
  • This was actress Zoya Hussain's debut film.

    Song

  • Paintra - This was the first Hindi film song for which rapper Divine wrote lyrics.
