Trivia

    Album

  • This film was a remake of producer Ramoji Rao's own Telugu film "Mayuri" (1985). The Telugu film itself was adapted from the real-life story of actress Sudha Chandran who played the film's titular role. Chandran' right foot had to be amputated when an injury she suffered from in a road accident got infected. The aspiring dancer was only 16 years old at the time. Her story made the news when, overcoming all odds, she recovered with the help of a Jaipur leg prosthetic, re-learned dancing and started performing stage shows. This was Sudha Chandran's debut Hindi film.[1]
  • This film reused the background score composed by S.P. Balasubramaniam for the Telugu film "Mayuri" (1985) of which this film was a remake.

    Song

  • Pag Paadam Sangeet Geet - The tune of this song was taken from the song "Ee Paadam", composed by S.P. Balasubramaniam and sung by his sister S.P. Sailaja, from the Telugu film "Mayuri" (1985) on which this film was based. Laxmikant - Pyarelal won the Sur Singar Samsad's Best Classical Composition in a Film Award and singer S. Janaki won the Best Classical Singer in a Film Award for this song. According to S.P. Balasubramaniam, he felt that he should have been credited for this song in the film, but he didn't begrudge Laxmikant - Pyarelal their award.[2]
