Trivia

    Album

  • This film was followed by "Namaste England" (2018) which was promoted as a sequel but didn't have any connection with the plot of this film.
  • Vipul Amrutlal Shah had sued the makers of the hit Bengali film "Paran Jai Jaliya Re" (2009) alleging plagiarism. The Calcutta High Court had issued an interim order banning the screening of this film. The matter was settled out of court when the makers of the Bengali film paid Shah a fee of Rs. 75 lakhs and agreed to acknowledge his film in the Bengali film's opening titles.[1][2]
  • It was reported that actress Priyanka Chopra was the first choice for this film but she was replaced by Katrina Kaif on Salman Khan's recommendation. It was said that Priyanka and Salman had a massive fall out due this.[3]
  • It was alleged that this film was inspired by "Purab Aur Pachhim" (1970) but Vipul Amrutlal Shah had rubbished these allegations. According to Akshay Kumar, this film was based on his friend's true story, which he had related to Shah.[4][5]
