Trivia

    Album

  • This 1954 film was banned initially due to its controversial take on religious hypocrisy. When the ban was removed, it went on to become a golden jubilee.
  • The film opened with its writer and director I.S. Johar reciting a Kabir doha - "Ban mein gaye hum birchha dekhe teerath gaye to paani / Mandir mein hum paathar dekhe prabhu moorati nahi jaani". He also provided an introductory voiceover after the film's opening credits.
  • The title of this film was also the title of its heroine Nalini Jaywant's last Hindi film. She retired in the 1960s and came out of retirement to do two films in the 1980s - "Bandish" (1980) and "Nastik" (1983).[1][2]
  • The film's dialogues were written by writer-director I.S. Johar's wife Ramma Johar.

    Song

  • Kitna Badal Gaya Insaan (Dekh Tere Sansar Ki Haalat) - Such was the impact of this Kavi Pradeep song that Sahir Ludhianvi adapted its lyrics to write "Kitna Badal Gaya Bhagwan" ("Railway Platform", 1955) the very next year.[3]
  • Kitna Badal Gaya Insaan (Dekh Tere Sansar Ki Haalat) - This song may have inspired the title of the film "Kitna Badal Gaya Insan" (1957).[4]
