Trivia

    Album

  • Sarika Mane accused the makers of this film of plagiarising her Marathi film "Aarti - The Unknown Love Story" (2017) and sent them a legal notice. She also lodged a complaint with the Screenwriters Association (SWA). Mane's film was based on the real-life story of her brother Sunny Pawar and his girlfriend Aarti Makwana, who was paralysed as a result of a car accident. The makers of the film refuted the plagiarism charge and claimed that it was inspired by director Shoojit Sircar's personal life. According to them, the film drew from Sircar's experience of tending to his comatose mother in 2004 as well as from a number of newspaper stories. The SWA ruled out charges of plagiarism and copyright infringement but was of the opinion that if the film had been inspired by Sunny Pawar's life, "then they should have sought permission from the families involved in the said incident or at the very least, acknowledged the said incident as a source of inspiration".[1][2][3][4]
  • This was Banita Sandhu's first Hindi film. Shoojit Sircar shortlisted her for the film's lead role after she worked for him in an ad film.[5]
