Trivia

    Album

  • This was the last of J.P. Dutta's trilogy of war films. The other films in the trilogy were "Border" (1997) and "LOC Kargil" (2003).[1][2][3]
  • As acknowledged in the opening credits, the film was based on a "true story about the India China skirmish of 1967".
  • Abhishek Bachchan walked out of the film just two days before its shooting was scheduled to begin. He didn't explain his decision except to say that he had quit due to "personal reasons". Filmmaker J.P. Dutta felt let down by Bachchan's decision since it was he who had given the actor his first break with "Refugee" (2000). The two had also worked together in "LOC Kargil" (2003) and "Umrao Jaan" (2006). Bachchan was replaced by Harshvardhan Rane. Suniel Shetty also quit the film shortly after this.[4][5][6][7][8][9]
  • Some of the film's cast and crew members came forward to claim that they had not been paid their dues for their work in it. Cinematographer Nigam Bomzan alleged that he was paid only part of his fees and that he had not been given credit for his work. According to Bomzan, he had left the film after completing 80 per cent of it and had been replaced by Shailesh Awasthi for the rest. He sent J.P. Dutta a legal notice demanding that his dues be cleared. Actor Gurmeet Choudhary also claimed that his staff had not been paid their fees.[10][11]

    Song

  • Paltan - The whistling in this song was an adaptation of the theme of the film "The Bridge On The River Kwai" (1957). S.D. Burman had adapted the same theme for the song "Yeh Dil Na Hota Bechara" ("Jewel Thief", 1967).[12][13]
