Trivia

    Album

  • This was one of the two films directed by actor Asit Sen. The other film was "Apradhi Kaun" (1957). Sen got an opportunity to work in these Bimal Roy productions after working with Roy for some time as an assistant. Actor Asit Sen's directorial credits are often confused with the works of the filmmaker Asit Sen who worked extensively in Bengali films and who debuted in Hindi films as the director of "Mamta" (1966).[1][2]
  • This was a remake of the hit Bengali film "Ardhangini" (1955). The opening credits acknowledged Bikash Roy, the Bengali film's director.

    Song

  • Ja Tose Nahin Boloon Kanhaiya - Salil Chowdhury based this song sung by Lata Mangeshkar on the Hamsadhwani raaga-based krithi "Vatapi Ganapatim" by Muthuswami Dikshitar. This was incidentally the first raag Lata Mangeshkar learnt from her guru Ustad Aman Ali Khan Bhendibazaarwale. In fact, it is Ustad Aman Ali Khan who has been credited with bringing Raag Hamsadhwani over from Carnatic music to Hindustani music.[3][MR7]
  • Kuven Mein Kood Ke Mar Jana Yaar Tum Shaadi Mat Karna - 1 - This song was issued in two parts, one on each side of 78 rpm records, but was filmed in a single song sequence.
