• This film was an official adaptation of the Hollywood heist film "The Italian Job" (2003), which in turn was a remake of the 1969 British film of the same title. The 2003 film was written by Donna and Wayne Powers, and the 1969 film by Troy Kennedy Martin.
• During the film's post production, there was some discussion to add a remixed version of the song "Jumma Chumma De De" ("Hum", 1991) or "Tamma Tamma Loge" ("Thanedaar", 1990). However, the idea was later dropped.[1][2][3]
• The Government of New Zealand and the local crews who worked on this film were said to be unhappy with the makers of this film. The New Zealand Film Technicians’ Guild complained that their invoices were paid very late. They also alleged that the film's crew flouted labour and safety laws of New Zealand.[4]
• The film's music was released in November 2011. The film itself was released in January 2012.
• Mustafa Burmawala made his acting debut with a minor role in this film. His father Abbas Burmawala was part of the Abbas - Mustan duo who directed the film. He made his debut in a lead role in "Machine" (2017).[5]
