Trivia

    Album

  • This film was director K.S. Prakash Rao and producer D. Rama Naidu's remake of their own hit Telugu film of the same title released in 1971. They had earlier remade it in Tamil as "Vasantha Maligai" (1972). This was director K.S. Prakash's only Hindi film and D. Rama Naidu's first of several Hindi films spanning decades. The success of the Telugu original gave D. Rama Naidu's career a new lease of life - following a few flop films, the producer had decided to quit the film industry if it were to fail.[1]
  • According to Rajesh Khanna, Raj Kapoor had kissed his hands after watching this film and told him that he had loved how Khanna had used his hands as swords in the film's climax. Years later, when Khanna made a similar gesture while shooting for the film "Aa Ab Laut Chalen" (1999), Rishi Kapoor, who was directing the film, had asked him to not move his hands, leading to an argument between the two. Khanna had eventually complied and wryly commented that the son had sheathed the sword his father had once kissed.[2][3]

    Song

  • Yeh Laal Rang Kab Mujhe Chhodega - Rajesh Khanna considered this to be his favourite song.
  • Ik Muamma Hai Samajhne Ka Na Samjhaane Ka - This was a short song with no instrumentation. It was not part of the film's audio release.
