Trivia

    Album

  • This film was loosely adapted from the Hollywood thriller "Cape Fear" (1962) which was based on the novel "The Executioners" (1957) by John D. MacDonald. "Cape Fear" (1962) was remade by Martin Scorsese in 1991. The Hindi film "Kanoon Kya Karega" (1984) was also based on "Cape Fear" (1962).[1]
  • The song "Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai" ("Guide", 1965) was used in this film and was picturised on Smita Patil and Jaya Prada. The film's opening credits thanked Dev Anand for allowing the song to be used in the film.[2]
  • This film was also remade in Telugu as "Nippulanti Manishi" (1986).
  • Director Raj Sippy went on to make another film with a similar plot - "Zahreela" (2001).[3]

    Song

  • Ek Aankh To Maare Dank - Filmed on Jayshree T. and Leena Das, R.D. Burman mixed two vocal tracks of Asha Bhosle to simulate the effect of two different singers harmonising in this song.
