Trivia

    Album

  • This was the third film in the "Raaz" horror franchise. The other films in this series were - "Raaz" (2002), "Raaz : The Mystery Continues" (2009), and "Raaz Reboot" (2016). The films' storylines were unconnected but they had a few cast and crew members in common. All the films in the series were produced by Vishesh Films, three of them were directed by Vikram Bhatt and featured actor Emraan Hashmi, and two starred Bipasha Basu.[1][2][3]
  • Some elements in the film's story were taken from stories Mahesh Bhatt had heard about actor Ranjan while growing up. Bhatt was familiar with Ranjan since the actor had worked in films directed by his father Nanabhai Bhatt. As a child, Mahesh Bhatt used to live with his aunt and Ranjan lived in the same neighbourhood. He had heard stories of Ranjan practicing black magic to further his film career. There were even rumours that the actor had suffered a mental breakdown as a result of this.[4]

    Song

  • Deewana Kar Raha Hai - This song seems to be an adaptation of the song "Ana Lao Azeto" from the album "Naweeha" (2008) by Egyptian artist Mohamed Hamaki.[5]
  • Oh My Love - Jeet Ganguly had used the tune of this song earlier for the Bengali film song "O My Love" ("Amanush", 2010). The original song was sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Shaan. While Shreya Ghoshal was retained in the Hindi version, Shaan was replaced by Sonu Nigam.[6]
