  • The film was inspired by the real-life events surrounding what is considered India's longest income tax raid. These events happened in 1981 when the Income Tax Department organised a number of raids over two days on the properties of 91-year-old Sardar Inder Singh, a Kanpur-based industrialist and a former Member of Parliament.[1][2]

    Song

  • Sanu Ek Pal Chain - This was an adaptation of a song by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The Hindi film song "Judaai Judaai" ("Judaai", 1997) was based on the same qawwali.[3][4]
  • Nit Khair Mangaa - This was a recreation of a song composed and sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.[5]
