Trivia

    Album

  • This was the only film in which Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha were romantically paired. Although the two broke off during the making of this film, they got back together eventually and got married in 1980.[MR35]
  • This was Saawan Kumar's first film as a lyricist and the beginning of his association with music director Usha Khanna. He brought Usha Khanna on board to compose the music for the next film he produced and directed, "Hawas" (1974). They were married for a brief period around this time. The two worked together in many films over the years till Usha Khanna's last Hindi film "Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa" (2003).[1][2]

    Song

  • Woh Jidhar Dekh Rahe Hain - Saawan Kumar's lyrics for the mukhda of this song were adapted from a couplet by Dagh Dehlvi - "Sab log jidhar woh hain udhar dekh rahe hain / Hum dekhnewalon ki nazar dekh rahe hain". Majrooh Sultanpuri had used the same couplet earlier as the mukhda of a song in the film "Gyara Hazar Ladkian" (1962).[3]
  • Barkha Rani Zara Jamke Barso (Male) - Shatrughan Sinha, who had been romantically involved with the film's heroine Poonam since they had worked together in "Dharti Ki God Mein" (1971), had broken off with her during the making of this film. In fact, he had given her a hard time during the film's making and had refused to shoot this song with her. As a result, filmmaker Jugal Kishore had been forced to film the song on actors Abhijeet and Jayshree T. However, when the song became very successful after the film's release, the director had requested Sinha to shoot it with Poonam. Sinha had agreed but had refused to speak with Poonam during the shoot. Jugal Kishore had wrapped up the shoot in just one day considering the state of affairs. It was only then that a new, poorly edited version of the song was patched into the film - one in which the lines were picturised on Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam, and the interludes on Abhijeet and Jayshree T.[4][MR35]
