Trivia

    Album

  • This was the debut film of actors Vivek Mushran and Manisha Koirala. They worked together again the same year for the film "First Love Letter" (1991).[1]
  • This was one of the two films in which actors Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar worked together. The other film featuring both of them was "Paigham" (1959).[2]
  • It was said that Raaj Kumar threatened to leave this film when he found out that Dilip Kumar's character would speak colloquial Hindi in the film, while his character would speak chaste Hindi. Subhash Ghai explained to him that this difference was because of the different background of the two characters and convinced him to stay.[3]
  • It was said that Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar did not speak to each other on the film's sets. Their only interaction happened when the camera was rolling.[4]

    Song

  • Deewane Tere Naam Ke - It appears that this song was adapted from the Punjabi folk song "Kadi Te Has Bol Ve" popularized by the Pakistani artist Shaukat Ali. According to Shaukat Ali's son, Ameer Shaukat Ali, his father had composed and written this song in 1983-84. The film's director Subhash Ghai had apparently taken permission from his father to use his tune for this song. This Punjabi song was also used in the song "Aahun Aahun" ("Love Aaj Kal", 2009).[5][6]
  • Imli Ka Boota - III - This version of the song was included in only some versions of the film's audio release.
