एल्बम

• This was a remake of the Malayalam film "Rahasyam" (1969) starring Prem Nazir and written by K.P. Kottarakkara. This film in turn was remade in Tamil as "Veettukku Oru Pillai" (1971).
• This was the debut Hindi film of its lead actors Navin Nischol and Rekha. It was also Ranjeet's debut film.
• Navin Nischol was in Bombay for the finals of the United Producers' Talent Contest when he met his father's childhood friend, filmmaker Mohan Segal. Segal advised the aspiring actor to enrol in an acting course at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). When Nischol reluctantly agreed, Segal paid his fees at FTII. Segal offered the actor a lead role in this film after he graduated from FTII with a gold medal.[1]
• Rekha had started work on a film titled "Anjana Safar" before this film. It was launched in 1969 but was delayed by many years, ostensibly because it ran into trouble with the Censor Board due to a kissing scene in it. The film was eventually certified and released in 1978 with the title "Do Shikari" (1974).[2]

गीत

• आँखें मेरी मैखाना - The tune of the first line of this song's mukhda may have been inspired by the guitar riff of the song "Black Is Black" (1966) by the rock band Los Bravos.[3]
