Trivia

    Album

  • This film was dedicated to music director Vasant Desai who died during its making in a freak accident in a lift. The film's background score was recorded after his death by musician Enoch Daniels and the film's directors Aruna Raje and Vikas Desai. This was Desai's last released film as a music director.
  • This was the debut film of the husband-wife film-making duo of Vikas Desai and Arunaraje Patil, credited in their films as Aruna Vikas. They would go on to direct two more films - "Gehrayee" (1980) and "Situm" (1982). Arunaraje's life took a tragic turn after "Situm" (1982). Her daughter, Gaagi, was diagnosed with bone cancer and died in 1983 at the age of nine. The very next day after her death, Desai told Patil that he wanted a divorce. He had apparently been having an affair with Patil's best friend and wanted to get married to her. Patil went into depression and even attempted suicide. She eventually agreed to divorce Desai and decided to move on. She formed a production company, Gaahimedia, which she named after her daughter Gaagi and son Hith, who, incidentally, had acted in this film. She was in the middle of her divorce proceedings when she wrote, produced and directed her first film, "Rihaee" (1988). A few years later, she finally got closure when she called Desai and told him that she no longer blamed him for what had happened between them.[1][2][3][4]

    Song

  • Abhi Naa Parda Girao - Gulzar had used the lyrics of this song previously for a non-film song composed and sung by Hemant Kumar.[5]
  • Do Nainon Ke Pankh Laga Kar - The scene in which this song was used had to be edited when the Censor Board wrote the filmmakers a letter asking the scene to be cut because "the couple is performing coitus".[MR42]
  • Ek Dil Hai Ek Jaan Hai - This song was part of the film's background score and was not included in its original audio release.
