Trivia

    Album

  • This was Ajay Devgan's second film as a director after his directorial debut in "U Me Aur Hum" (2008).[1]
  • The film was edited and a new version was released a few days after its initial release. Its runtime was reduced by more than 10 minutes in response to the feedback of the distributors.[2]
  • A controversy erupted when Ajay Devgan released an audio clip of a conversation between the former actor and film reviewer Kamaal R. Khan (KRK) and producer Kumar Mangat Pathak. In this conversation, KRK was heard saying that he had taken Rs. 25 lakhs from Karan Johar to praise his film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" (2016) and criticise this film. Both films were released together. It appears that the "sting" was conducted at the behest of Ajay Devgan. The actor-director had suspected foul play when KRK had recorded a clip of the film's opening while watching it in a Dubai theatre and posted it on Twitter along with a series of unflattering remarks about it. Devgan responded to the audio clip with a strongly worded statement asking for the matter to be investigated and Karan Johar's involvement determined. KRK retracted his statement later and said that he had said what he had said to put an end to Pathak's persistent questioning. Johar refused to comment on the issue at the time but in 2019, he said that the controversy had damaged his relationship with Devgan and his wife Kajol, who had acted in many films produced by him. He clarified that they had mended their relationship since then but that he had decided to avoid release conflicts like this in the future.[3][4][5][6]
