Trivia

    Album

  • Filmmaker Ramesh Saigal had originally launched this film in 1951 with the title "Shikwa". He had signed up Dilip Kumar and Nutan in lead roles but work on the film never took off. When it was relaunched in 1959, it was with newcomers Dharmendra and Tarla Mehta in the lead roles. Saigal made another film, "Ishq Par Zor Nahin" (1970), with a similar plot about a decade after this film. Both the films featured Dharmendra in the lead role.[1][MR21]
  • Manoj Kumar had been the initial choice for the role in the film that was eventually played by M. Rajan.[MR53]

    Song

  • Ladi Re Ladi Tujhse Aankh Jo Ladi - This song was based on the popular Punjabi wedding song "Adi Ve Adi". A recording in Parkash Kaur's voice remains one of the most popular versions of this folk song.
