This was a spiritual successor to the film "Shubh Mangal Saavdhan" (2017). Hitesh Kewalya, the debutant director of this film, had written the screenplay and dialogues of the 2017 film. Ayushmann Khurrana played a lead role in both films. Bhumi Pednekar, who played a lead role in the 2017 film, made a cameo appearance in this film.[1]

Pyaar Tenu Karda Gabru - This was a recreated version of a 2011 Punjabi non-film song composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh, written by Kinder Deol, and sung by J-Star.[2]
Arey Pyaar Kar Le (Yaar Bina Chain Kahaan Re) - This was a recreated version of a song from the film "Saaheb" (1985). The original song was composed by Bappi Lahiri, written by Anjaan, and sung by Bappi Lahiri and S. Janaki. Lahiri's vocals from the original song were mixed in the recreated version. He also made a cameo appearance in the recreated song, which was used in the film's end credits. Lahiri himself had recreated the same song earlier for the film "Main Aur Mr. Riight" (2014).[3][4]
Kya Karte The Saajna - This was a recreated version of a song from the film "Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka" (1988). The original song was composed by Anand - Milind, written by Majrooh Sultanpuri, and sung by Anuradha Paudwal and Udit Narayan. Paudwal's vocals from the original song were remixed in this version.[5]
