Trivia

    Album

  • This film was a remake of director Ahathian's own hit Tamil film "Kadhal Kottai" (1996) starring Ajith. Ahathian's story for the film was inspired by the love story of Kopperun Chozhan and Pisirandhaiyar described in the ancient Tamil poetic work "Puranaanooru". The Tamil film was also remade in Kannada as "Yaare Neenu Cheluve" (1998) and in Bengali as "Hothat Brishti" (1998).
  • Sanjay Kapoor had plans of becoming a producer after the release of this film. However, when this film became a big hit, he put those plans on hold and continued pursuing his acting career.[1]
  • This was the last T-Series film album to have Nadeem - Shravan's music. This excludes the music for "Do Knot Disturb" (2009) which T-Series acquired through its purchase of Big Music's catalogue. The music directors were not credited in the film or its music release. The label severed all ties with the duo after Nadeem Saifi was linked to the murder of T-Series's head Gulshan Kumar. In the years to come, Nadeem - Shravan's credits were removed completely from the digital catalogue of T-Series albums. By the 2010s, the composer credited on the digital copies of all Nadeem - Shravan albums had been changed to Bhushan Dua, Gulshan Kumar's son and the CEO of T-Series.
  • ''Pyar To Hamesha'' - This song is inspired from Tamil song "Kaalamellam Kaadhal Vaazhga" from "Kadhal Kottai" (1996) from which this film was based on.

    Song

  • Sirf Tum (Pyar To Hamesha Rahega) (Duet) - This song is loosely adapted from Tamil song "Kaalamellam Kadhal Vaazhga" composed by Deva for Tamil film "Kadhal Kottai" (1996) from which this film was remade.
  • Dilbar Dilbar (Tumse Milne Ke Baad Dilbar) - This song was re-created by Tanishq Bagchi for the Hindi film "Satyameva Jayate" (2018).[2]
  • Dekho Zara Kaise Balkha Ke Chali - Gurdas Mann not only sang this song but also appeared on screen for it.
