Trivia

    Album

  • The film industry was abuzz with reports of the box office clash between "Raees" (2017), starring Shah Rukh Khan, and this film, starring Salman Khan. Both the films were originally scheduled to be released in July 2016 on the day of Eid. Eventually, however, "Raees" (2017) was postponed and this film was released as planned. Shah Rukh explained that this was done to ensure that each film got released in at least 3500 theatres in one go. The actor said that they also had a day's shooting remaining and the postponement gave them some time to complete it. The change in plan resulted in "Raees" (2017) clashing with "Kaabil" (2016) instead - both films ended up being released on January 25, 2017.[1][2][3][4]

    Song

  • Jag Ghoomeya - Arijit Singh had recorded a version of this song but, according to the singer, Salman Khan had it removed from the film. The removal of the song was apparently the result of a fallout between Arijit and Salman that originated at the 2014 Star Guilds Award function. Salman was a host at the function and Arijit the recipient of an award for "Tum Hi Ho" ("Aashiqui 2", 2013). Hurt by the removal of his version of this song and unable to reach Salman directly, Arijit wrote a public apology to the star on Facebook. On being asked to comment on the apology, Salman said that he had nothing to do with the song's removal and it was the filmmakers' decision. His apologies notwithstanding, Arijit continued to be a pariah in Salman's films.[5][6][7]
