Trivia

    Album

  • This film was based on the real-life story of educator Anand Kumar and his initiative to train thirty unprivileged children for the Joint Entrance Exam of the Indian Institute of Technology every year in Patna, Bihar without charging a fee. The film was titled after the name of Kumar's training program. Prior to this, Amitabh Bachchan's character in the film "Aarakshan" (2011), named Professor Prabhakar Anand, had been modeled on Kumar. In 2018, four students of IIT Guwahati filed a PIL with the Guwahati High Court alleging that Kumar had cheated them. It was reported that the makers of this film changed their marketing strategy in the wake of this case. The Guwahati High Court ordered the closure of the PIL a few months after the film's release.[1][2][3][4]
  • This was the last film produced by Phantom Films before the dissolution of the partnership of its founding members Vikas Bahl, Madhu Mantena, Anurag Kashyap, and Vikramaditya Motwane. The end of Phantom was precipitated by Bahl's removal from the film in October 2018 after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct. This was done after the film's lead actor Hrithik Roshan asked the producers to "take a harsh stand if need be". In February 2019, it was announced that Kashyap would complete the film's post-production work and that the film would not carry the director's credit. However, a little more than a month before its release, it was announced that an internal inquiry by Phantom Films had cleared Bahl of all charges and that his director credit would be reinstated consequently. There were questions around the intent and fairness of the inquiry which was held just before the film's release. In January 2021, it was announced that Madhu Mantena had bought out his partners' stake and converted Phantom into a joint venture between his firm Mad Man Ventures and Reliance Entertainment.[5][6][7][8][9][10]

    Song

  • Basanti No Dance In Front Of These Dogs - The song's hook line was inspired by a famous line delivered by Dharmendra in the film "Sholay" (1975). The same line also inspired the songs "In Kutton Ke Saamne Naach Basanti Naach" ("Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho", 2015), "Naach Basanti Naach" ("Jia Aur Jia", 2017), and "Basanti Aaj Kutton Ke Saamne Na Naach" ("Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari", 2020).[11][12][13]
