• This film was an uncredited remake of the Pakistani film "Sahib Jee" (1983). Its plot finds its origins in Ashapoorna Devi's Bengali novel "Jog Biyog". This Bengali novel was also adapted for a Bengali film with the same title released in 1953, the Tamil film "Padikkadha Medhai" (1960), the Telugu film "Aatma Bandhuvu" (1962), the Hindi film "Mehrban" (1967) and the Kannada film "Baala Bandana" (1971). The Tamil film "Per Sollum Pillai" (1987) starring Kamal Haasan and the Telugu film "Indra Bhavanam" (1991) also had similar plots.[1]
• The release of this film was delayed by a few months after its completion. While its audio records were issued in 1989, the film was released only in 1990.

गीत

• फ़िल्मों के सारे हीरो - Each stanza in this song made a reference to a Hindi film actor. The lyrics and tunes of the stanzas were similar to hit songs featuring those actors. Govinda mimicked the appearance and mannerisms of the actor referred to in the stanza. The first stanza referred to Amitabh Bachchan, the second stanza to Jeetendra, and the third to Raj Kapoor.
