Trivia

    Album

  • The critically-acclaimed music of this film came from two debutants - music director Krsna and lyricist Rajshekhar. Krsna won the Filmfare R.D. Burman Award for his score for this film.
  • This was director Aanand L. Rai's breakout film. The success of the film brought about a sequel in 2015. Many cast and crew members of this film also worked in the sequel. This included director Aanand L. Rai, writer Himanshu Sharma, actors Kangana Ranaut, R. Madhavan, Deepak Dobriyal, and Jimmy Shergill, music director Krsna, and lyricist Raj Shekhar.[1]
  • The film was remade in Telugu as "Mr. Pellikoduku" (2013).
  • Aanand L. Rai had initially chosen Konkona Sensharma for the film's lead role. He went with Kangana Ranaut finally because Konkona had a busy schedule at the time and could not accommodate this film in it. A few years later, actress Neetu Chandra claimed that she had signed this film but had been replaced by Kangana on R. Madhavan's recommendation.[2][3]

    Song

  • Saadi Gali - This song was originally released by the UK-based bhangra-pop band RDB in 2005. The song was re-released in this film but RDB was not given credit for it in the film's audio release. [4]
  • Piya Na Rahe Man Basiya - The film's initial audio CD release credited singer Shafqat Amanat Ali for this song, whereas it was actually sung by Roop Kumar Rathod. The credit was corrected in subsequent releases.
  • Jugni - Mika Singh not only sang this song but also appeared on the screen for it. The song was used in the film's end credits.
