Trivia

    Album

  • This was Govind Nihalani's first mainstream film. It was panned by critics as well as audiences.
  • The distributors of this film were not happy with its rushes. Govind Nihalani had to make some changes to its script to incorporate their feedback. This delayed the film's release by nine months.[1]
  • Singer Sukhwinder Singh got the opportunity to write the lyrics for two songs in this film when lyricist Mehboob did not show up on time and A.R. Rahman asked Sukhwinder if he could step in.[2]

    Song

  • Mujhe Rang De - This song was used in the English language romantic comedy "The Accidental Husband" (2008).
  • Toofan Ki Raat - The tune of the first two lines of this song is very similar to that of the first two lines of the song "My Love Is For Real" (1995) by Paula Abdul.[3]
  • Jumbalika - A.R. Rahman reused the tune of his own Tamil film song "Jumballakka" ("En Swasa Kaatre", 1998) for this song.[4]
