Trivia

    Album

  • This was an unofficial remake of the hit Tamil film "Gentleman" (1993), written and directed by Shankar. Some of the songs in this film were based on A.R. Rahman's songs in the original Tamil film. A.R. Rahman wasn't duly credited for the use of his music except for an acknowledgement - "Thanks to AR Rahman" - in the film's opening credits.
  • This was Telugu film superstar Chiranjeevi's last Hindi film.

    Song

  • Roop Suhana Lagta Hai - This song was based on A.R. Rahman's Tamil film song "Ottagatha Kattikko" ("Gentleman", 1993). The tune of the mukhda of the Hindi film song "Dil Mera Deewana Dhadke" ("Mafia", 1996) was also based on the same song.[1][2]
  • Hum Apne Gham Ko Saja Kar Bahaar Kar Lenge - The mukhda of this 1994 song, written by Rahat Indori, was identical to that of a song from the film "Madan Manjari" (1961). Interestingly, while the 1994 song was composed by Anu Malik, the 1961 song was composed by Sardar Malik, Anu Malik's father, and written by Hasrat Jaipuri, his maternal uncle.[3]
  • Jhoom Ke Dil Ne - This song was based on the Telugu film song "Jummane Tummeda Veta" ("Mechanic Alludu", 1993). It was part of the music release but not included in the film.[4]
  • What Is Love Kya Hai Pyar - This song was based on the 1993 hit pop song "What Is Love" by Haddaway.[5][6]
  • Aashiqui Mein Had Se Guzar Jane Ko Jee Chahe - This song was adapted from A.R. Rahman's Tamil film song "Usilambatti Pen Kutti" ("Gentleman", 1993).[7]
  • Chika Pika Rika Boom Bole - This song was based on A.R. Rahman's hit Tamil film song "Chikkubukku Chikkubukku Raile" ("Gentleman", 1993). This Tamil song was also adapted by Anand - Milind for the song "Pak Chik Pak Raja Babu" ("Raja Babu", 1994).[8][9]
