  • This was an adaptation of Basu Chatterjee's film "Shaukeen" (1982). The 1982 film may also have inspired the Telugu film "Prema Pichollu" (1983) starring Chiranjeevi.[1]
  • Akshay Kumar played the role of an alcoholic film star named Akshay Kumar in the film.
  • Rati Agnihotri, who had played the female lead in "Shaukeen" (1982), played Anupam Kher's wife in this film. Diana Haydon played the role that Rati Agnihotri had in the original.
